Taco Bell is defying fast food norms with the first two story eatery coming straight from the Bell, but don’t let two floors instead of one frighten you; your food will still come out fast and hot!

The fan favorite taco chain has officially announced the arrival of a two story fast food restaurant which means double the fiesta potatoes, 2x the nacho bell grandes and more than one beefy burrito!

The most innovative restaurant yet includes a massive two-story experience located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

Dubbed the “Taco Bell Defy”, the new and improved restaurant will be 3,000 square-feet spread across two floors with four drive-thru lanes omitting one long line that occasionally wraps around the building.

Been there, done that.

The revamped drive thru lanes will feature two-way audio and video technology so you can see the team members taking your orders and customers can still order through the Taco Bell app ahead of time.

“In 2015, we created the Taco Bell Cantina concept with an open kitchen environment in urban markets. In 2020, we introduced the Go Mobile concept much earlier than anticipated with the help of quick collaboration with franchisees just like Border Foods,” Taco Bell global COO Mike Grams says in a press release. “Partnering with our franchisees to test new concepts is a huge unlock of learning for us. What we learn from the test of this new Defy concept may help shape future Taco Bell restaurants.”

The new style will be designed with the help of Vertical Works Inc., a Minneapolis-based design company.

Taco Bell enthusiasts can expect (and hope) for the two story restaurant to be open to the public next summer!
