There Is A New ‘Vikings’ Spinoff Coming To Netflix And It’s Reminiscent of Game of Thrones

There is a Vikings spinoff coming to Netflix, and I can’t wait!

Have y’all seen Vikings on The History Channel? OMG. It is so good! It is very reminiscent of Game of Thrones, but think a viking story — so there is a whole lot of conquering lands, brutal battles, and epic sweeping story lines.

Vikings: Valhalla (the Netflix show) is not going to be a continuation of the Vikings storyline, but it is, instead, going to be a spinoff, happening roughly 100 years after the events of Vikings.

Be prepared to get introduced to some of the most interesting and notorious Vikings in history: Leif Erikson, Freydis, Harald Hardrada, and William the Conqueror.

We know they started filming some of Vikings: Valhalla at the beginning of the year, but you’ll never guess what happened. *Eye Roll Emoji*

Just like everything else on earth, filming got shut down due to — you guessed it — the coronavirus.

According to WhatsOnNetflix.com, filming for the show resumed in August of 2020, so things are back on track, and we are HOPING we will have a completed first season by the end of 2021.

That isn’t nearly soon enough, but HEY, I’ll take what I can get!! Just knowing there is a cool new show coming to Netflix is enticing enough for me to hang around.

Vikings: Valhalla is going to be part of the Netflix original family of shows — so you KNOW it’s going to be done right, and I. Can’t. Wait!!!

You can catch seasons 1 through 6 of the History Channel show Vikings, on Hulu and Amazon Prime.

Be looking for more information to come, including first look pictures and trailers!

If you are looking for something GREAT to watch in the interim, you have GOT to check out Away on Netflix. It is so crazy good!
