A New Stimulus Package Is Expected Today. Here’s What We Know.
Today is the day – the final day that the House can come to an agreement on a new stimulus package before election day.
Last week, Nancy Pelosi set today, October 20th as the last day agreements could be made because it would take time for an agreement to be made and to get a bill passed through both chambers of Congress by November 3.
Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff Drew Hammill tweeted yesterday afternoon that Pelosi and Mnuchin spoke for nearly an hour where “they continued to narrow their differences.”
He continued with saying that Pelosi and Mnuchin would continue speaking Tuesday and that “The Speaker has tasked committee chairs to reconcile differences with their GOP counterparts on key areas.”
Everyone is agreeing that we need another stimulus and if it isn’t passed by today, we may not see one until January 20, 2021 which is several months away.
As of right now, all we can do is wait. Let’s hope they reach an agreement today so that so many Americans can get the financial help they need right now.
As soon as we know more, we will let you know!
