Today is the day – the day attorney’s for both Amber Heard and Johnny Depp meet in court once again.

Attorney’s are meeting to try to conclude the defamation trial after the jury reached a verdict several weeks ago.

The jury granted Johnny $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages, the judge changed the amount to the Virginia cap on punitive damages of $350,000.

Meaning a total of $10,350,000 was awarded to Johnny.

Amber Heard was provided $2 million in her countersuit to Johnny.

While the initial defamation case mostly ruled in favor of Johnny Depp, Judge Penney Azcarate, the judge overseeing the trial, didn’t enter the jury verdict into the docket.

Friday, June 24, 2022 will be the day she does that unless the two parties agreed to a settlement.

According to Yahoo:

At the 11 a.m. hearing Friday, Azcarate may also accept oral arguments from each side over the jury verdict. Depp and Heard aren’t personally required to be in the courtroom during the hearing, Samy Abdallah, Azcarate’s clerk, told Insider.

If the two don’t agree to a settlement, and Azcarate enters the jury verdict, then the case will move to the Court of Appeals of Virginia after 21 days, Abdallah told Insider. At that point, the parties would have 30 days to file a notice of appeal.

However, it sounds as if Amber Heard’s attorney’s plan to appeal the decision in court today and we just received a statement from Amber’s PR team regarding today’s events.
