Avatar: The Way of Water Gets Official Release Date
It has been nearly 2 years since we heard Avatar was getting a sequel and now the release day has finally come!!
Avatar 2 will officially be named Avatar: The Way of Water.
Avatar: The Way of Water is going to focus more on the family dynamic of the lead characters and the landscape that is Pandora.
According to Jon Landau, the producer of Avatar 2:
“This is the story of the Sully family and what one does to keep their family together. Jake and Neytiri have a family in this movie, they are forced to leave their home, they go out and explore the different regions of Pandora.”
In this second installment of Avatar, we get to meet the family of Jake and Neytiri.
They have had three children: Neteyam, Lo’ak, and Tuktirey, and we get to watch how the family will traverse being forced out of their land. Will it bring them closer? Will it tear them apart?
Part of the movie is filmed underwater.
It’s super cool to get a look behind the scenes through pictures they share with us during production, and learn how they go about filming!
In Avatar 2 and 3, we will also get an even more detailed look at the landscape of Pandora — which I’m super excited about!
They ended up filming Avatar 2 and 3 simultaneously in New Zealand, and much of the movies have to be added in virtually, which, as you can imagine, takes some time.
But we are officially near the end date for Avatar 2 as the release date was announced earlier today at CinemaCon.
Avatar: The Way of Water will be only in theatres December 16, 2022!!! Awwww yeah!!
I seriously cannot wait to get my advance tickets. This is going to be one movie that HAS to be seen in theaters!
