Is this a joke? This has to be a joke, right?
Billy McFarland — the event organizer behind the Fyre Festival (2017) — has announced that the festival is getting a take two.
I mean, what?
I saw the Fyre Festival documentaries on Netflix and Hulu. They were so chaotic and insane, I thought they weren’t real.
I watched, thinking they were filming a parody or something. This couldn’t be real, right?
The Fyre Festival — completely real — was the festival that never actually happened, and it was a total shit show.
People were promised a HUGE destination music festival, where they would bump booties with famous celebrities, stay in luxurious accommodations, have extravagant meals, and basically have the best times of their lives.
Fyre Festival Was One Of The Biggest Scams To Rock The Music World
In actuality, there were absolutely no bands signed on to perform, no celebrities, the food was literally cheese sandwiches, and the luxurious accommodations ended up being flimsy tents amid literal rubble.
Sure, the festival goers stayed on an island. But, it was FAR from what they were promised.
If you were one of the unfortunate ones who showed up to Fyre expecting the BEST time, you were basically stranded on the crappy island with nowhere to go, nothing to do, and pretty much the worst accommodations imaginable.
Not to mention, the attendees were out up to $1500 a pop.
It was an insane disaster, and Billy McFarland — the brains behind the whole thing — ended up doing time for committing fraud.
But, somehow, he thought a Fyre Festival 2 would be a good idea.
Okay?
In a Tweet, McFarland announced to the world Fyre Festival II is happening, and we are all kind of scratching our heads.
As you can imagine, commenters weren’t exactly kind. They sort of voiced the same things I was thinking.
