The individuals who have been saving their change for years are the smart ones.

Currently the U.S. is experiencing a national coin shortage, so if you currently have an entire plastic bin filled with quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies, now is the time turn those coins in for a free meal at participating fast food restaurants.

A Chick-fil-A in Lynchburg, VA is currently giving out food coupons and cash in exchange for a minimum of $10 in coins from customers.

For example, if you walk in with a roll of $10 in coins, this Chick-Fil-A chain will give you a coupon for food AND cash back in the amount of $10 today, July 29th.

Similar to the Chick-fil-A restaurant in Virginia, a Taco Bell in Newman, CA is giving out a free taco in exchange for coins, ABC10 reports.

So if you’re an individual currently living in California or Virginia, today is your lucky day to go get some free food!

You can also call your local Taco Bell and Chick-Fil-A locations to check to see if they are doing something similar.
