The ‘Cruel Summer’ Finale Has Me Absolutely Livid And I Don’t Know What To Do With My Feelings
If it’s not already apparent..there’s about to be a whole lot of spoilers. So if you haven’t seen the finale yet, WHY THE HECK NOT? Go watch it and get back here!
Ok, so for those of you who HAVE seen it…what the actual heck? My head is spinning and I don’t know how to feel anymore!
It started out great. Jeanette and Kate finally got closure. They finally spoke to each to each other, cleared the air, and Kate finally realized that Jeanette never saw her that night.
Perfect! Now the air is cleared, Jeanette dropped the charges and the truth has set everyone free. Right? WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.
First of all, I am not AT ALL ok with the fact that Kate finds out that Mallory was the one that saw her in captivity, and somehow just forgives her immediately and is fine with it. She spends this entire season trying to take Jeanette down but gives Mallory a free pass? No. Not ok.
And then the two of them drive off into the sunset…and randomly start making out, like everything is fine. Um no. Kate clearly needs to get therapy for the fact that she actual killed her captor. And Mallory needs to process the fact that she didn’t come clean about her part in all of it. No sunset take offs. No.
But then, of course, we have the biggest shocker of all. After spending all this time getting her name cleared, we find out in the LAST SECOND of the show that Jeanette did in fact know that Kate was kidnapped and didn’t save it. WHAT?!?!?!??!?!
And from the looks of it, no one will ever find out about that, especially since her name was just cleared of it. So our innocent main character may have been the biggest villain the entire time. I can’t deal. I need season two now.
