Dead Creatures Washed Up On A Beach In North Carolina And Nobody Knows What They Are

I think I watch too many sci-fi movies and television shows because this creature looks like something that traveled here from the upside down…

The dead creatures washed up on the barrier islands of North Carolina and they have no idea what they are.

Weird things found on the beach. We need some help identifying these objects.

There were two of the unidentified creatures and they are described as looking like long black worms that are about 6 inches long and have bristles on their bodies.

Our turtle patrol found them on the ocean side beach recently adjacent to a log covered in goose-neck barnacles. (No idea if they are connected to the log or if its just a coincidence.) So far, we’re stumped as to what they might be.

So far they believe the weird looking creatures could be a type of sea cucumber or type of sea slug.

But they couldn’t be matched to any images that were posted online. Has anyone seen anything like this along the North Carolina coast (that’s the western Atlantic Ocean) before?
