The famous weather predicting groundhog has spoken; did the groundhog see his shadow today or is spring coming early?

And if you’re new to the whole groundhog tradition, let me take a minute to explain because a groundhog that predicts the upcoming seasons might sound a little funny if you have no idea what’s going on!

February 2 is groundhog day, and there’s a tradition that tells if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, there are six more weeks of winter left.

Now if the famous groundhog doesn’t see his shadow, you can toss your snow boots and mittens to the side because that means spring is coming early!

So without further ado, drum roll please!

Today the groundhog saw his shadow, which means the colder weather is sticking around for a little while longer ladies and gentlemen.

So hang on to those snow boots and don’t put away your shovel just yet because six more weeks of winter is headed our way whether you like it or not.

Now whether or not you prefer sitting by a fire with a sheet of snow on the ground versus a hot summer’s day eating a frozen popsicle, bundle up for the next six weeks because Punxsutawney Phil says winter is here to stay, for now!

You can watch the groundhog see his shadow here, letting us all know that there are six more weeks of winter left before we can see spring’s showers and May’s flowers!
