Disney+ Just Hired A New Writer For The Upcoming Star Wars Series ‘Kenobi’
Disney had previously announced their next Star Wars series on Disney+, and would be — KENOBI, but that may have been just a little premature.
Hossein Amini, the original writer of Kenobi, decided to leave the project in January, and that sort of shut things down.
I don’t know about you, but my heart stopped for about a half a second. I was REALLY looking forward to this Star Wars series about Obi-Wan Kenobi!
Never fear! Joby Harold has flown up the the plate, and will act as writer for the upcoming series.
Harold is already an established writer, and you may recognize his work from his writing credits on Army of the Dead, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and Awake.
He has also previously acted as a producer and an executive producer for SEVERAL projects, including John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum and the 2018 version of Robin Hood.
Production was set to start in August of 2020, but has been pushed to January of 2021. Hey, at least it’s still happening, AMIRITE?!?
Still set to direct the series is Deborah Chow, who previously directed two episodes of The Mandalorian. I love her!
And, of course, it couldn’t be a proper KENOBI series without Ewan McGregor.
Kenobi is set to take place sometime after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and the beginning of Star Wars: A New Hope.
