JoJo Siwa Called Out Nickelodeon For Only Treating Her Like A Brand and Not A Real Person
Nickelodeon may have some explaining to do…
JoJo Siwa has recently made headlines because she has publicly called out Nickelodeon claiming the company only treats as a brand and not as a real human.
Here’s the thing – I am a firm believer in not biting the hand that feeds you BUT there is a line that needs to be drawn and I think that is where JoJo is at.
Earlier this week JoJo posted on Twitter saying:
I go out on tour in January. My movie musical was just released (with 6 new original songs)… Nickelodeon told me today that I’m not allowed to perform/add any of the songs from the film into my show. These are MY songs, MY voice, MY writing. Does this seem fair???
She then continued saying:
There is no reason that this music should not be included. Working for a company as a real human being treated as only a brand is fun until it’s not.
So, basically, Nickelodeon is trying to stop her from doing what she wants to do and that is, include her music from her movie musical.
Why is Nickelodeon trying to stop her? Who knows. Perhaps it’s in her contract somewhere, but why?
Nonetheless, JoJo is upset and just wants to be herself. I mean, after coming out as gay and announcing her girlfriend to the world, it really seems like all she wants to do is be true to herself and her fans.
For some reason, Nickelodeon seems to be trying to get in the way of that.
As of right now, Nickelodeon has not made a statement but in an interview to TMZ, JoJo said that things between her and the company can be worked out. She says she just “wants to be a good person, do what’s right and perform what she wants to perform”.
