The EPA Just Approved Pine-Sol Disinfectant To Kill The Coronavirus

Another household cleaning product we are all very familiar with is added to the list of approved disinfectants to kill SARS-Cov-2, which is the virus that causes COVID-19.

If you remember back in the summer, the EPA also confirmed two Lysol disinfectants and now, you can add Pine-Sol Original Multi-Surface Cleaner to your list of cleaning supplies.

Who would’ve thought that the very common household cleaning disinfectant, would be a product approved to kill the Coronavirus on hard, non-porous surfaces.

Tests from a third-party laboratory prove the disinfectant is effective against the virus, specifically within a “10-minute contact time on hard non-porous surfaces”, according to a press release.

Chris Hyder, vice president and general manager of the cleaning division at The Clorox Company said in a statement that they hope the new approval will “increase access to disinfectants that can help prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

The EPA also mentions that individuals should read product information in its entirety to ensure the product is used correctly, safely and efficiently.
