If you feel the same as me, it was incredibly sad to see Gossip Girl end in 2012. So to see a reboot in the works has me jumping for joy!

There have been rumors of a reboot for about a year now, but HBO has confirmed that a Gossip Girl reboot is in the works, and even revealed their first lead star!

Meet Emily Alyn Lind

She may look familiar to you. She was in many hit series such as Revenge, Sacred Lies, and Doctor Sleep.

She is also the daughter of Barbara Alyn Woods, who is known for her star roles in One Tree Hill and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

Emily will be playing the character of Aubrey, a teenage girl who is wondering if her long-term relationship is enough for her, or if there is more out there. Further details about Aubrey’s storyline and the rest of the cast have yet to be released, but they have promised more diversity to the set.

Gossip Girl’s original creators, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, are confirmed to be the executive producers of this Reboot show.

This 10-episode Reboot is based off of Cecily von Ziegesar’s book series, just like the first series.

As for the original cast, this is what we know so far.

Kristen Bell has agreed to return as the show’s narrator. Chace Crawford said he would possibly return for a cameo, but not as a main character.

Leighton Meester and Penn Badgley are still up in the air if they want to appear on the show, but not opposed to it. However, Blake Lively has confirmed she will not be a part of the show in any way.

Although the Gossip Girl Reboot doesn’t have a release date yet, HBO Max, (the platform it’s intended to appear on) launches in May. So the hope is that they will launch it during that time.

Until next time, XOXO
