Grab Your Tissues, This Is The Incredible True Story Behind Google’s Super Bowl Commercial
Warning: You need the tissues for this one.
There is an incredible true story behind Google’s 2020 Super Bowl Commercial that made everyone cry. It’s beautiful and tear-jerking.
Google debuted a commercial titled, ‘Loretta during the 2020 Super Bowl and it was amazing. I bawled like a big ol’ baby. It seems everyone else did too.
While I figured it was based off a true story, I didn’t know for sure until now.
Apparently, the entire ad is based off a real-life story of a Google employee’s 85-year-old grandfather.
According to a statement Chief Marketing Officer Lorraine Twohill released, the ad was also completely voiced by that same 85-year-old grandfather.
In fact, the voice you hear throughout “Loretta” is the grandfather of a Googler, whose story we drew from to create the ad. At 85, to an audience of millions, he’ll be making his film debut. We couldn’t be happier for him.
The ad is meant to show man using Google Assistant to keep the memory of his love alive.
It is such a beautiful story and it just makes me hope I get the to die old with my husband just like they did in The Notebook (maybe without the Alzheimer’s though).
Kuddos to Google for making the most memorable and loving commercial so far.
