This is just the sweetest Thanksgiving story EVER involving an accidental text that turned into a 7 year story.

The story went viral when it first happened, and people eagerly await the news every year that the story is continuing.

It all started when Wanda accidentally texted Jamal, thinking she was texting her own grandson an invitation to Thanksgiving dinner.

Her grandson never got the text, but Jamal had the best response.

So, they had Thanksgiving dinner together!! And, the next year they had Thanksgiving together. And, the next year …

This was SEVEN years ago — and they are set to celebrate Thanksgiving together again!

Things have changed a little. Wanda’s husband passed away in early 2020 from complications of COVID and everyone is a little older, but it is now tradition, and it continues — Wanda and her family will get together with Jamal and his family for Thanksgiving Dinner.

This just makes my heart happy!!

“Jamal taught me that age made absolutely no difference,” she told TODAY last year. “I love all of my grandkids and kids, but we all are different generations and we all reminiscence about different things. But when Jamal came along, my husband and I and him and his girlfriend, we would go out to dinner throughout the year together and we would just lose all track of time.”
