Homemade Face Mask

This winter has seemed exceptionally long and cold.  With the cold comes dry skin, chapped skin, and inevitably irritated and acne prone skin.  That’s exactly where my skin condition lies now.  I’ve been playing around with some homemade masks and skin care products that will get my skin and complexion feeling and looking better.  This Homemade Face Mask is wonderful!

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp honey – local raw honey if possible
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil – virgin organic
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal

Homemade Face Scrub

Instructions:

Begin by grinding the oatmeal to a course yet fine texture.

Bring the coconut oil to room temperature or heat it until it becomes fluid.  You’ll want to heat it by letting the jar set in a bowl of warm to hot water.

Mix the ground oats, the coconut oil, and the honey together to form a paste.  The paste should not be too runny as you’ll want it to stick to your skin.

Apply the mixture to your skin and let it set for 15-20 minutes.  When the time has passed rinse the mixture off and pat your skin dry.

The reason this Homemade Face Mask works:

The raw honey is very beneficial to health.  It is naturally antibacterial, full of enzymes, and is very soothing.  The oatmeal is gentle but helps to exfoliate and cleanse skin.  The coconut oil is moisturizing and has an endless list of amazing health benefits.

You’ll notice that your hands will start to feel the benefits of this mask just while you make it.  When you’ve finished applying the mask, letting it set, and rinsing after you’ll be amazed at how great your face and hands feel!  Maybe even better than how your skin feels is how good you can feel knowing that this mask is all natural and that you know every ingredient that is in it.  You wouldn’t hesitate to put these ingredients in your body which makes me feel so good about using it on my skin!
