Jessica Walter From ‘Arrested Development’ And ‘Archer’ Has Died
Jessica Walter was a well known actress for her role on the hit television show ‘Arrested Development’. She died yesterday at age 80 years old.
She was an Emmy-winning actress for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series for the NBC drama ‘Amy Prentiss’.
She was also nominated for an Emmy for her role on ‘Arrested Development’ in 2005. She had many fans of her role as ‘Lucille Bluth’ on ‘Arrested Development’.
It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of my beloved mom Jessica. A working actor for over six decades, her greatest pleasure was bringing joy to others through her storytelling both on screen and off. While her legacy will live on through her body of work, she will also be remembered by many for her wit, class and overall joie de vivre.
Walters’ daughter, Brooke Bowman, told Deadline
Honestly, I know her from her role in ‘Play Misty for Me’, which was a Clint Eastwood movie. If you’ve never watched it, you must!
She also voiced Malory Archer on the FXX animated series ‘Archer’. She definitely had a wide variety of role types and was great in all of them!
If you’ve never watched any of those that I listed above, you may recognize her from one of her many television roles. She was in shows like ‘90210’, ‘Coach’, ‘Murder She Wrote, ‘One Life to Live’ and many more!
She was even in many Broadway shows, including the 2011 production of ‘Anything Goes’. Jessica won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical for that one!
Her husband, actor Ron Leibman, had passed in 2019 at the age of 82. At least they can be together once again.
At this time there has been no cause of death listed. Deadline did report that she had passed in her sleep. She will be missed!
