Listen up Yellowstone fans. This one’s for you.

There has been so much back and forth: Will he leave, will he stay?

There has been talk that, due to scheduling, Kevin Costner might not be returning as John Dutton.

Well, it’s finally official.

It has been confirmed that Kevin Costner will NOT be returning to the Yellowstone after season 5.

This news comes after reports of Costner’s unhappiness with his filming commitments for the second half of season 5.

Y’all. They haven’t even yet started filming the second half of season 5!

Since John Dutton is basically the Yellowstone, there were some valid fears that the show might be ending after this season.

BUT, turns out, we still get to hang around for all the wild and crazy happenings at the Yellowstone ranch for the time being.

Even without the patriarch of the Dutton family.

Thank goodness! A source told Entertainment Weekly that the show isn’t going anywhere.

Yellowstone is really in limbo right now until they can figure out whether Costner is coming back or, more likely, whether he’s going to be written out of the show — Once that determination is made, they can finish writing the second half of this season, shoot it, and it will likely air in the fall.

I will be interested to see how they write him out of the show.

Will he die? Will he move? Will he pursue political opportunities outside of the compound in Montana.

It would be a HUGE twist, but I kinda hope they kill him off.

Controversial, I know. But, hear me out.

I love John Dutton, but it would make for hella good television!

What do you think about Kevin Costner leaving Yellowstone?
