The night sky shines bright in November considering this month will show a full moon dubbed the Beaver Moon, alongside a lunar eclipse.

This month’s full moon called the Beaver Moon, gets its name from the specific time of year when beavers begin to take shelter in their lodges for the colder months ahead.

So when is the best time to catch the full Beaver Moon?

The full moon will reach peak illumination early morning on Friday, November 19 at 3:59 a.m. EST.

The early birds will catch the worm during the moon’s full peak hour, however for those who are more of a night owl, look up at the night sky the day before just after sunset because the moon will be very close to full!

The near-total lunar eclipse will also arrive the same day as the Beaver moon just a minute later.

A lunar eclipse happens when the moon moves into the Earth’s shadow and blocks the sun’s light, causing the moon to turn a dark red color, which means this full moon will also have a reddish, coppery hue.

The near-total lunar eclipse will be visible around 4:00 a.m. EST on Friday, November 19.
