Making the Wrong Choice

Writing and Real Life are different. If I repeat this enough, then maybe I will get it.

This is hard for me, because I want to make the right choices in life. I want to choose the best school for my daughter. I want to pick the right house, and I want to generally do the thing that makes me the most successful in life at all times on the easiest route possible.

Who doesn’t?

Now, as a writer–sometimes we need to have our characters make bad choices. This is hard for me, because I want them to end up having a happy wonderful life at all times the same as I want it for myself. And, they can’t just make bad choices, they have to make believable bad choices. That’s even more difficult.

As I work through my current WIP I am trying to keep that in mind. Believable Bad Choices that make the story interesting.

I can do that. yeah.
