If you’ve followed this story, you know that it is not only sad, but it’s a completely bizarre story…
Madeleine McCann disappeared from her bed in a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on the evening of 3 May 2007, at the age of 3.

Since then, her disappearance has truly shaken the world.
The entire story from how she just vanished to women coming forward claiming to Madeleine has just made this story even more strange.

But as of today, police are actively digging near a reservoir to search for Madeleine McCann.

BBC News reported that police divers have started searching a remote reservoir in Portugal, which is located 31 miles (50km) from where Madeleine went missing.

According to BBC news:
The operation is being led by German police looking for evidence to link her disappearance to Christian Brueckner.
The 45-year-old German national was made a formal suspect, or an “arguido”, by Portuguese prosecutors in 2022.

Apparently, Christian Brueckner is known to have visited this exact spot around the time Madeleine went missing.
So, is it just a strange coincidence or not?

But why are they searching now? After so many years?
Apparently, when speaking to the German regional public broadcaster NDR, the German state prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters said the authorities that they “have grounds to believe that we could find evidence there (in the reservoir)”.

Again, no sure why this is being done nearly 17 years later but maybe they will find something that will end up providing closure to Madeleine’s family.
