San Antonio Is Where It’s At!

We spent our spring break in San Antonio. Honestly, it’s the first vacation we’ve taken without other family members involved. It’s kind of nice to be able to move on our own schedule, but I also missed having my parents, grandparents, cousins, and so on. I was worried Hal wouldn’t have very much fun without other relatives, but that wasn’t the case. She had an absolute blast.
When we got to San Antonio, I had a room set up at the Hyatt Regency right on the river walk. What I didn’t know was– they upgraded us to super swank and we got a three room suite! The guy behind the desk even gave me the “you must be someone important” look. Heh, little did he know. 🙂

That’s the view from our room! When the river boats floated past, we even got to wave at the people. My daughter spent a lot of time doing this.
Seriously. A lot. 🙂
The coolest part of the Hyatt regency is that the river actually flows right through the hotel! You want to really get the river walk experience? This is the place to stay.

Once we got there we headed straight out the hotel doors to the sanction. Fancy shops, fun music, and of course–restaurants right on the river.

Feeding the ducks from our table was the perfect end to a perfect day.
We woke up ridiculously late the next day. (because what is spring break if not for sleeping in, right?) Then headed out to sea world. We were about twenty minutes down the road!

Our spring break this year wasn’t the same time as everyone else’s… That means we got sea world with NO crowds! How awesome is that? There wasn’t even a crowd around the dolphins!

Side note: Did you know you can feed a freakin’ dolphin at Sea World. Crazy…
And of course what trip down southbound 35 is complete without a trip to the caves?

The daughter was quite scared…. But she got over it super quick. 🙂
I’d say if you’re staying in Texas, San Antonio is pretty much the perfect vacation. I’m definitely planning on doing it again!
