The ongoing pandemic has paused many events in 2020 and it looks like the Grammys is now being added to that long list.
The event which celebrates the best in music had been originally set to air on January 31st at the Staples Center in Los Angeles with host Trevor Noah from “The Daily Show”.
However, the award show has been officially postponed according to the Recording Academy, CBS and show producers.
“The deteriorating COVID situation in Los Angeles, with hospital services being overwhelmed, ICUs having reached capacity, and new guidance from state and local governments have all led us to conclude that postponing our show was the right thing to do,” the academy said in a statement to NBC News.
