June is here, and she is serving up the first three episodes of season 3 of the Handmaid’s Tale.
Season 3 of The Handmaid’s Tale has promised the watchers a LOT, but will it live up to those promises? We know that the Handmaid’s Tale is hard to watch, especially right now. But it’s so good.

I’ve seen the first three episodes of Season 3, and here’s what I know so far. (Also, as long as you’ve seen Season 1 and 2 of the Hulu hit, then this post will be spoiler free.)
We’ve spent the first two seasons of this show basically watching June get impregnated, have a baby, and then get that baby away from Gilead. This was all interesting enough, but it left most of us yelling at our screens wanting them to RISE UP AND FIGHT.
Serena and June strike a deal at the end of season 2 that gets Nicole (that’s the name of the baby) the heck out of Gilead, but last minute-like June decides to stay and save her other daughter that some random family stole from her way back when this whole Gilead business started.
As a mom, you can respect her decisions, but what you really want to know is– would she be better off getting free and trying to help her daughter from outside Gilead than smack dab in the middle of it?
That’s a great question, and one that has puzzled not only me, but everyone I’ve talked to. Either way, June made a last minute decision to hand Nicole off to Rory (okay she has another name in the show, but she will forever be Rory to me) so that she could stay behind and get her other daughter to safety, too.
So what should we expect in season 3? Season 3 is all about the resistance. It’s time for June and the other Handmaiden’s and Martha’s to quit sitting idly by and to start making a real difference.
Season 3 is going to give us women kicking butt and taking names. We are going to see Serena get stronger, we are going to see June get stronger, and hopefully we are going to see them take over the freakin’ world.
Because it’s about damn time.
