‘The Prom’ Was The Absolute Cheesiest Movie I Have Seen Despite The Great Message Behind It
For the past few days, The Prom on Netflix has been sky-rocketing. Then I got on TikTok and it’s the number one trending hashtag! So, of course, I had to check it out!
With all musicals, I try to understand that the cheese factor is just going to be there. But with A-list actors and a great message behind it, what could go wrong? A lot…
The acting was SO over the top it hurt. I wanted to turn off the movie in the first ten minutes for that alone.
I was STUNNED. To see actresses such as Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman be a part of such a goofy film with the most outrageous, dramatically horrible acting, I’m just…stunned.
Had this movie NOT had A-list actors and already been a huge Broadway hit, this would not be in the top ten. It was just so painful to watch such dramatically poor acting. I think they were doing it on purpose but it was just so cringe-worthy.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I loved the message behind it of accepting everyone. I love that they fought to give that poor girl the right to have a prom and that everyone united at the end.
I just can’t get over that someone thought it was a good idea to take the dramatic dial and turn it up so high that it broke.
