These Are The Victims That Died in The Helicopter Crash with Kobe Bryant

Yesterday was such a sad day and the sadness lingers on as we learn new information about the helicopter crash that took the lives of 9 people including NBA star Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna.

As of yesterday, we knew that Kobe Bryant was among those dead but it wasn’t until late last night that the final total number of victims amounted to 9.

While we are all saddened to hear about Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter among those deceased, we need to take a moment to remember the other 7 victims and share our condolences with their families.

John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli and Alyssa Altobelli

Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli; his wife, Keri; and their daughter, Alyssa, died in the crash, the school said in a statement on Sunday.

Alyssa and Gianna played together on the AAU basketball team coached by Kobe Bryant according to The Houston Chronicle. The group was reportedly headed to Bryant’s Mamba Sports Academy for a tournament when the helicopter went down.

Christina Mauser

Christina Mauser was the top assistant coach of the Mamba basketball team that included Gianna Bryant and Alyssa Altobelli, reported the Los Angeles Times.

Her husband confirmed her death on Facebook saying:

“My kids and I are devastated. We lost our beautiful wife and mom today in a helicopter crash. Please respect our privacy. Thank you for all the well wishes they mean so much.”

Sarah Chester and Payton Chester

Sarah Chester and her daughter, Payton Chester were also killed in the crash, reported ESPN and CBS News.

Ara Zobayan

Kobe Bryant’s private pilot was Ara Zobayan who was flying the helicopter when it crashed, reported multiple outlets.

Reportedly, he was an instrument-rated pilot and was qualified to fly in fog.
