This Teacher Walks 5 Miles Every Day Delivering Food To Students In Need and My Heart Is Full
Y’all. I have NO excuse now. I need to pick myself up off my couch, pause Netflix, put away the snacks, and help the cause.
There is a teacher, who loads himself up with FORTY POUNDS of free lunches for students, and walks FIVE MILES Every. Single. Day. to make sure his students have the food they need.
I’m not crying, you are!! I just have dust in my eyes.
Zane Powles is nothing less than a super hero! Not only does he carry all the food, he brings the homework to and from school that the kids need, and — most importantly — he uses his time delivering food to check in on each and every student.
He PERSONALLY sees about SEVENTY-EIGHT students each day — while I sit on my rear end, watching Netflix. Y’all. I need to do better!
Mr. Powles used to be in the military, so he is no stranger to carrying heavy equipment and walking forever.
I bet he didn’t know he was training for THIS kind of war when he was a soldier!
While Zane is walking the five miles to deliver his supply of food, there is another teacher who takes food by car to children that live further out.
Y’all. This makes me have such faith in humanity!
There is still good in the world, and I applaud Mr. Powles, and ALL the teachers out there, who are working so hard to better this situation for our students.
