You’re probably reading the title thinking, hold on, how can he have that many teeth?

And I thought the same thing!

A 7-Year-Old Boy Had to Have 526 Teeth Removed… Yes, FIVE HUNDRED AND TWENTY SIX.

7-Year-Old P Ravindran was taken to the Saveetha Dental College and Hospital in Chennai, complaining of a swollen growth on his lower jaw.

When the dentists X-rayed his mouth, they found a “bag-like” tumor containing 526 small teeth!

It took dentists 5 HOURS to remove the tumor and 526 teeth from the boy’s mouth.

“The tumour-like growth prevented permanent molar teeth growth in the boy in the affected side. X-Ray and CT scan showed multiple, rudimentary teeth in a bag-like tissue. It took five hours to remove all the minute teeth from the bag-like structure. The weight of the growth was 200 gms,” said P Senthilnathan, Professor, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Saveetha Dental College and Hospital.

  1. The procedure took an hour and a half not 5 hours.

    1. Why is the report and the video conflicting information? Hmmm… it’s kind of puzzling to me … but I’m assuming it could just be lost in translation throughout the article. Very interesting though.
