Earlier today, HBO Max announced the company was restructuring and will now be known as Max.

Alongside that news, they also broke new that a Harry Potter TV Series is coming!!

Warner Bros.

Max, (formerly known as HBO Max) announced that the company has ordered a scripted series based off of J.K. Rowling’s novels.

The series will be 10 years long and J.K. Rowling herself is an executive producer.

According to reports, it will be a faithful adaptation of the books and feature all the magic you know and love.

Now, in case you’re wondering, the original cast will not be part of it (maybe there will be a cameo in the future?).

Instead, a new cast will strive to bring Harry Potter‘s adventures to new audiences around the world.

“We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way,”

“Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World. In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and J.K. Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years.”

Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO & Max Content

“Max’s commitment to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me,” Rowling added, “and I’m looking forward to being part of this new adaptation which will allow for a degree of depth and detail only afforded by a long form television series.”

Now, if you’re wondering how people are responding, there are lots of comments like this:

And this…

I’ll be honest, I am with this guy. Why do we need a reboot? So many of us love the originals!

As of right now, no word on when this will be released but we do know we are getting a decade long series whether we asked for it or not.

So, expect lots of Harry Potter coming soon!
