Working less? More rest? Yes please! That’s all I could think of when I saw this latest study!

I’m only 32, but I’ve already noticed a decline in my energy. (Could be all the ice cream I eat, who knows) So I was intrigued by this study suggesting less work for those over the age of 40!

A study done in Australia found was that when you’re over the age of 40, working more than 25 hours a week means you may start to show some cognitive decline. That’s not good.

But it’s not as scary as it sounds. Essentially, their brains are sharper if they stay at around 25 hours a week, rather than drag it out to the full 40. So they could technically be more productive if they worked less hours. Sign me up!

40 hours is a bad idea to start with. Who came up with that? Ugh. Now we just have to figure out how this can actually be incorporated into your life, whether it be going down to part time, or having a conversation.

If you love your 40 hour work week…great. But if you’re over 40 and noticing a decline in your attention span or productivity, maybe it’s time to change things up!
