This Cliff House Just Might Be The Most Terrifying House Ever To Exist
There are a few things I never want to do.
Skydive, swim with sharks, be caught in a huge tornado, go through the scariest haunted house ever to exist, bungee jump into an active volcano (yes, it’s a thing), and dangle precariously from the side of a huge cliff like a barnacle on a boat.
I have the natural inclination to preserve my life. Any activity that challenges that notion is a big NOPE in my book.
That’s why I will never, ever book a stay at the Cliff House in Australia.
The Cliff House quite literally hangs off the side of a cliff. It dangles high above the roaring ocean, and it is one of my biggest nightmares come to life.
According to Inhabitat, the design of this insane house “was created in response to a growing number of clients exploring design options for living on extreme coastal plots in Australia.”
Cliff House In Australia Is Designed To Dangle Off The Side Of The Cliff Like A Barnacle On A Boat
Now, the views of the ocean from this house are absolutely stunning — but there is no way I could even stand at the door to this Cliff House.
According to Insider, Cliff House is a five-story home that has three bedrooms, a living area, kitchen, and ginormous floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase the sea below.
Vertigo, anyone?
Cliff House is literally drilled into the side of the giant cliff. Steel pins drive into the rock face, (supposedly) keeping the home safely attached to the cliff.
The first level of the house is level with the edge of the cliff, and includes a 2 car garage for your vehicle.
Residents are treated to an outdoor patio that is set up next to the vehicle parking space.
An elevator or stairs connects each floor, with the bedroom, living area and kitchen each having separate space on the various floors.

The interior features minimal furniture throughout, in order to emphasize the connection to the ocean and the horizon.

At the lowest floor, the home opens up to another outdoor space, which seems to float above the water. Patio furniture, an outdoor kitchen and a jacuzzi tub extend the luxurious feeling of being perched above the ocean.

So, what do you think? Could you spend the night at Cliff House without wanting to cry like a baby, sleep in a parachute, and strap yourself securely to the cliff?
