Dave Prowse Who Played Darth Vader in Star Wars Has Died

Another great actor who led a long amazing life has passed away. Dave Prowse played Darth Vader in Star Wars has died at age 85.

Dave Prowse was a bodybuilder and although he did not provide the voice for Darth Vader, he provided the massive body that we all know. James Earl Jones provided the voice for Darth Vader.

Dave was a bodybuilder in a time alongside other television and movie actors such as Lou Ferrigno and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He spent a huge portion of his life, 50 years, acting. I think he will always be known best as Darth Vader though.

May the force be with him, always! Though famous for playing many monsters – for myself, and all who knew Dave and worked with him, he was a hero in our lives. A truly and deeply heart-wrenching loss for us and millions of fans all over the world.

He actually had a choice of playing Chewbacca or Darth Vader and ultimately chose the Dark Side! He will always be remembered for such a fantastic role!

Prowse died after a short illness, according to his agent. He had also been fighting prostate cancer.
