Disney+ Just Released Their Halloween Movie Collection Early So Bring On The Holidays
Disney+ has released its Halloween collection of movies yesterday, August 14th! Some of our all-time favorites are included!
They have pulled together 20 movies for the collection. Some of those are live-action films, and some are animated. I’m actually shocked that there are some on this list that I have never watched before, I must have been slacking!
The complete collection is listed below:
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949)
This is an oldie, but a goodie. It is a mixture of “The Wind In The Willows” and “The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow” in an animated film. Definitely a classic for the whole family to watch together.
Don’t Look Under the Bed (1999)
13-year-old Frances McCausland has been framed for the pranks in the town of Middlesburg. She tries to clear her name, but she needs help. She gets her little brother’s imaginary friend, Larry Houdini, to help.
Frankenweenie (1984)
Many of today’s kids have never watched the original Tim Burton film for Frankenweenie. Victor lost his best friend Sparky and uses science to bring him back! It stars Shelley Duvall, Daniel Stern, Barret Oliver, and Joseph Maher.
Frankenweenie (2012)
In 2012 they released an animated version of Frankenweenie by Tim Burton. Both of these movies are great, but start with the original!
The Ghosts of Buxley Hall (1980)
When the 100-year-old Buxley Military Academy falls into financial trouble, they have had to merge with a school for girls. The resident ghosts are not thrilled and come to seek justice for the break with traditions.
Girl vs. Monster (2012)
Imagine accidentally releasing a monster from a containment chamber. Then you find out that your parents are monster hunters. Well, that is exactly what happens to Skylar in this movie.
Halloweentown (1998)
This one is such a fun movie! It came out the year that I had my first child. The kids have watched it several times over the years! Marnie and her siblings meet their estranged grandmother, a good witch who lives in Halloweentown. Marnie finds out on her 13th birthday that she is actually a witch too and there is an evil force trying to take over Halloweentown.
Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge (2001)
Marnie and Sophie head back to Halloweentown for more adventures with Grandmother Aggie. Something strange has happened and the community no longer can access its magic. Apparently an angry warlock has taken the spell book.
Halloweentown High (2004)
Marnie the witch is back in this third film for more magical adventures. This time some of her friends from Halloweentown have transferred to her mortal high school. But, then an evil knight shows up and is determined to destroy anything magical.
Return to Halloweentown (2006)
Marnie is all grown up and it’s time to head off to college. She won a full scholarship to Witch University in Halloweentown! But, we all know it can’t be that simple, there happens to be an ancient prophecy and she just happens to be the key to the secret!
The Haunted Mansion (2003)
Eddie Murphy is as hilarious as ever in this film. He plays a realtor and just finds himself and family pulled into battling a curse at Gracey Manor.
Hocus Pocus (1993)
Do I even need to explain this one? I mean I think everyone has watched Hocus Pocus a million times! If not, you must watch it! It is truly a film to watch every year!
Mom’s Got a Date With a Vampire (2000)
The kids are grounded, but they had big plans. So they set their mom up on a date, only to find out that they set her up with a vampire! Now they have to fix it and save their mom!
Mr. Boogedy (1986)
This one takes me back, way back! Imagine moving into a new home and then finding out that it is haunted by ghosts! That is exactly what happens to the Davis family!
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Do I even need to explain this one? The Nightmare Before Christmas is by far one of the best animated movies ever made! Tim Burton is just magic! The Pumpkin King, Jack Skellington, only wants to spread Christmas joy and ends up creating a nightmare that needs to be fixed.
Phantom of the Megaplex (2000)
I have to admit, this is one I must have missed! I’ve never watched it and that is a rare occurrence for me with Halloween movies. This is about Pete Riley, a 17-year old that works at a movie theater. Strange things start happening and awaken the Phantom of the Megaplex! I’ll have to watch this one!
The Scream Team (2002)
I feel like I have slacked a bit over the years, this is yet another movie that I did not know about! This one is about 2 kids named Ian and Claire Carlyle. They travel to their father’s childhood home for their Grandpa Franks funeral. While there, they have some ghostly encounters and an adventure!
Twitches (2005)
Imagine running into your twin that you never knew about! On their 21st birthday, Alex and Camryn find out that they are twins that were separated at birth. Not only that, but they are also witches!
Twitches Too (2007)
Alex and Camryn the twin sister witches are back for another magical adventure. This time there is a new supernatural evil they must fight.
Zombies (2018)
Yep, another one that I have never watched, but I am putting this at the top of my list! It looks hilarious and I think my kids will love it. The government created a device that makes zombies quit craving brains, so they start integrating zombies into a regular school. The zombies and the humans have to learn to coexist.
Have you watched all of these movies? I can not believe there were some on this list that we had never watched! But we are going to change that!
