Disney Just Gave An Update On Their Park Closures. Here’s What You Need To Know.
Well, I can’t say that I am surprised at this announcement but Disney Just Gave An Update On Their Park Closures. Here’s What You Need To Know.
In case you were planning on booking an early spring visit to Disneyland or Disney World, you’ll want to rethink your vacay plans.
Disney Parks just gave an update to their closure status and I am not surprised by it.
On their Disney Blog they posted a statement saying:
“While there is still much uncertainty with respect to the impacts of COVID-19, the safety and well-being of our guests and employees remains The Walt Disney Company’s top priority. As a result of this unprecedented pandemic and in line with direction provided by health experts and government officials, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will remain closed until further notice.”
While this may be disheartening, they did have good news for former cast members and employees of the parks. Saying:
“The Walt Disney Company has been paying its cast members since the closure of the parks, and in light of this ongoing and increasingly complex crisis, we have made the decision to extend paying hourly parks and resorts cast members through April 18.”
At least there’s that! I mean, it’s amazing they are paying everyone, can you imagine how many people actually work for Disney Parks?
So, as of right now, there is no word on when the Disney Parks will open again but if you were planning a vacation there soon, at least you know.
Also, you are able to get a refund if you have a vacation booked during this closure. You can read more about that here.
