Free Printable Laundry Recipes to Help Clothes Last Longer
My mom is a laundry hero. She somehow came up with nine million ways to make our clothes last longer when I was a kid. Now that I have kids of my own, I had to ask her how she did it (although I’m sure she tried to teach me when I was a teen). No kidding, she said she had Laundry Recipes she’d designed over time–and they were posted on the laundry room wall in my childhood home my whole life. Apparently, I was just not very observant. I snuck-in like a stealthy ninja into her laundry room this week and copied her Laundry Recipes to Help Clothes Last Longer so I could put them on my own laundry room wall and I’m sharing them with you in a free printable!
Basically, every one of my mom’s laundry recipes starts with a good detergent. I like the new method products because they’re both biodegradable and hypoallergenic, as well as being a formula that works great in cold water so you use less energy for every load. Nothing like being green while washing clothes–helps make our planet last longer! LOL!
Then, it’s all about which temperature water, whether or not to add softener and how to dry it. She even specifies if there should be a dryer sheet (which I USED to throw into every load, but now I know I don’t have to!) and which types of clothes should be hung. All of this is meant to help keep our clothes from getting those little pills or holes or whatever. And she did an amazing job. I still have shirts at her house that I used to wear constantly in high school that still look brand new. Laundry. Hero. That’s my mom.
So, anyway, on to the sharing of this awesomeness!
