Dr. Fauci Says Fully Vaccinated People Can Enjoy A Maskless Holiday Season
People that are fully vaccinated can rip off that mask and enjoy a lovely maskless Christmas with your family. These are (almost) Dr. Fauci’s exact words.
Okay, so he probably said something much more official, but that was the gist of what he said. LOL!
“That’s what I’m going to do with my family,” Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union.”

Just a reminder, “fully vaccinated” means that you are more than 2 weeks out from your SECOND dose of the vaccine.
While you should definitely consider getting that booster vaccine, the guidelines for “fully vaccinated” remain the same.
And, it’s also important to note that if ANYONE you are getting together with is NOT vaccinated, you should still wear a mask.
Just because you are vaccinated does not mean that you can’t carry and spread the coronavirus. It will hide out in your nasal passages, just waiting to pounce on that unsuspecting, unvaccinated individual.
Also, keep in mind, just because you are vaccinated DOESN’T mean you can’t get the virus. You are just protected from the severity of the symptoms that the unvaccinated individuals are facing.
“Get vaccinated and you can enjoy the holidays very easily. And if you’re not, please be careful,” Fauci said. “Get tested if you need to get tested when you’re getting together, but that’s not a substitute for getting vaccinated. Get yourself vaccinated and you can continue to enjoy interactions with your family and others.”

Now, we are headed into our SECOND COVID-19 Christmas season — BUT, this is the first one where people have been able to protect themselves by getting vaccinated.
However, the nation is still looking at almost 27% of people that have yet to get the first dose of the vaccine.
And, while that is totally your choice — no one is MAKING you get the vaccine — it sure makes it harder for everyone involved.
It turns a maskless get together into one where you have to (or SHOULD) cover up that pretty smile.
We are quickly headed into the season where EVERYONE gets sick, and now we have COVID to contend with. *Sad Face*
Fauci underscored the importance of vaccines and boosters going into the next few months, as he noted an uptick in cases is “not unexpected” in the winter.

While it is too late to get fully vaccinated before the holidays, you should STILL consider just biting the bullet and getting that first vaccine.
“We have a lot of virus circulating around. We know that there are breakthrough infections and that’s how you get the uptick in cases,” Fauci said. “The bottom line, common denominator of all of this data, is we should get vaccinated if you’re not vaccinated, and boosted if you have been vaccinated.”

Have a fun, safe, and healthy holiday season!
