First of all, to be clear, the show was actually filmed on a set, but the home that shown (from the outside) during the first season as the home they lived in was a real house. I mean, the rooms are not the same or anything like that because again, that was a set.

It is a 2,901 square-foot home located in Los Angeles, California. It has 4 bedrooms, which is just what I need! But, it comes with a massive price tag y’all! You can own The Golden Girls House for $2,999,000! Yikes! Again, way out of my price range!

It’s located at 245 N Saltair Ave in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. So, not only is it out of my price range, but it’s totally not in Texas and I know my husband is not leaving Texas. But dang, I love this kitchen!

Architecture, location and a slice of Hollywood history! This impeccably maintained Mid-Century Modern treasure is one of TVs most familiar exteriors, a stand-in for the fictional Miami locale of The Golden Girls. The TV interior was just a set; the inside of the real Brentwood residence was private and is being revealed for the first time in 65 years. Inspired by the beauty of Mid-Century Japanese/Hawaiian architecture, award-winning Hawaiian architects Johnson and Perkins were commissioned to design this 4-bedroom dream home, custom built in 1955. Floor to ceiling glass, clerestory windows and ultra-high beamed ceilings create expansive volume and visual transparency perfectly connecting indoors and out. Natural colors and textures create a tranquil atmosphere and sliding shoji screens and built-in cabinetry subtly define space. Pristine original oak floors and the original turquoise, avocado and yellow kitchen are among the beautifully preserved period details.

So in the past, we only were able to see the outside of this home. We never got to see the inside! But now that it’s for sale, we totally can!

The property was built in 1955 by a modern architect from Hawaii and you can see that in these images of the interior, as well as some Japanese inspiration.
