Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Is a New Ride Coming To Universal Studios THIS SUMMER!
You. Guys. There’s a new ride, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, coming to Universal Studios Orlando.
Here’s what we know so far.
Hagrid’s Magical Creatures is set to open June 13, 2019 in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of adventure. It’s supposed to be the most highly themed roller coaster yet.
Hagrid will fly with you on a ride that plunges into the path of some of the wizarding world’s rarest magical creatures.
The roller coaster replaces the old roller coaster that used to be the Dueling Dragons. It closed down a few years ago, and we were hoping some thing Potter-tastic showed up there, but this is beyond our wildest imagination!
We are huge Harry Potter world fans at our house. We try to go a few times a year, and we are SO STOKED about this new Hagrid ride!
They’ve promised us no giant hills or upside down loops (remember, HP is themed at kids that are just getting into roller coaster rides, so they want something fun, but not CRAZY. It will have some forward and backward moving parts and even an indoor drop but it shouldn’t be too intense.
The ride carts will actually look like Hagrid’s motorcycle and have a sidecar. You can either sit on the motorcycle like Hagrid or ride next to him in the sidecar.
The magical creatures are going to be animatronic creatures instead of the 3D screens that are so popular these days. Which is AWESOME.

You can also do like we did and go through until you get to chosen for the wand ceremony! (I am such a sucker, by the way. I watched this video of my kid getting her wand, and totally teared up. Again.)
Oh man, riding in Hagrid’s sidecar. WE CAN NOT WAIT.
