This has been going on so long now. Stuck at home with all of our feelings, confusion, fear, just everything. It’s all piling up. Some of us are better equipped to handle it and have support systems. Some of us do not have support systems.

I’m one of those people that keeps a lot inside myself. If I spoke everything I felt out loud, people wouldn’t understand.

With technology comes opportunities. Online counseling is one of those opportunities! I think more of us need this than will admit to it. We all try to vent online, but it never fails that someone will misinterpret what you are expressing and go on an attack.

I don’t need to be attacked right now and neither do you. We just need to be able to speak without being judged for the things that we are feeling and going through. This is where online counseling could help someone like me and you too…even if you think you don’t need it, you may be surprised!

Some people that have never experienced anxiety or depression are now in that boat. I am diagnosed with anxiety and depression and it’s not an easy thing to deal with, especially alone.

I did some research to find some online counseling services to share, here is what I found recommended the most.

Talkspace

Talkspace: They have 24/7 access, so they are there when you need them. You do not need an appointment. You can switch therapists and they have flexible plans.

Betterhelp

Betterhelp: An extensive study by the Berkeley Well-Being Institute found BetterHelp to be as effective as face-to-face counseling. They offer individual counseling, couples counseling, and teen counseling. Betterhelp also has a free 7-day trial.

MDLive

MDLive: This site offers so many services. Anything from your physical health issues to mental health.

Doctor on Demand

Doctor on Demand: This is another site that offers many services including mental health services.

7 Cups of Tea

7 Cups of Tea: This is a site where you can try peer support as well as choose to talk to a therapist if you like. It’s an on-demand emotional health service and online therapy provider. This may be a good place to start!

The CDC also has a list of recommendations for places you can contact during this time.

I hope this can help someone right now. We all need to help ourselves to feel better so we can help others. Don’t let yourself fall too deep before seeking help.
