Is Chris Rock Pressing Charges After Being Slapped By Will Smith at the Oscars?
It looks like Chris Rock may have gone too far with his jokes during last night’s ceremony at the Oscars.
Many celebrities seated in the audience were left shocked when Chris Rock was slapped across the face by Will after he made a joke about Jada his wife.
The Oscars were even quick to cut the audio since it was live.
While Chris was presenting the Academy Award for best documentary, Chris made a joke about Jada’s shaved head saying “Jada I love you, ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it.”
Once the camera crew panned over to Jada who rolled her eyes at Chris, Jada has been open about her autoimmune disorder alopecia, which has caused the hair loss.
Following the slap, Will Smith mouthed from the audience, “leave my wife’s name out of your f**king mouth.”
Moments later Will won his first Oscar that night and apologized for the altercation earlier, but what does Chris Rock have to say?
According to the LAPD, Chris Rock has not filed a police report and will not be pressing charges.
“LAPD investigative entities are aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards program,” the department told CNN in a statement. “The incident involved one individual slapping another. The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report.”
