The Golden Bachelorette has officially picked their first-ever leading lady and hint, this woman was a contestant on The Golden Bachelor!
This contestant, who was known to be one of the first to develop a strong connection with Gerry Turner, (The Golden Bachelor), left in Week 3 due to her daughter’s medical emergency.

61 year old Joan Vassos has officially been named The Golden Bachelorette‘s star to find love on their new show.
Now if you’re unfamiliar with the The Golden Bachelor and Bachelorette, the two shows were inspired by The Bachelor and Bachelorette series that revolve around one leading man or woman looking to find love!
The only difference between the Golden series and the original Bachelor and Bachelorette seasons are the age requirement!
And as you might have already heard, The Golden Bachelor and Bachelorette shows were made for seniors only!
Joan Vassos who was widowed after 32 years of marriage is currently a mother of four, a grandmother of two, and a school administrator from Rockland, Maryland per ABC.
According to ABC, her hobbies also include listening to Elton John (because who doesn’t love Elton), and spending time with her dog and cooking too!
The Golden Bachelorette will air on television this fall, every Wednesday at 8 p.m. on ABC, and available to stream the next day on Hulu via a recent press release from ABC.
