Reese Witherspoon Has Just Confirmed a ‘Legally Blonde’ Prequel And We Are So There

If you didn’t already know, Reese Witherspoon, the star in the Legally Blonde franchise who played Elle, is also the founder of a media company dubbed Hello Sunshine!

But why is this all important?

It’s been confirmed from Reese herself in a new video on TikTok, that Elle Wood’s character is coming back to the big screen!

That’s right, Prime Video has officially ordered a Legally Blonde prequel series that already has a title!

Now the new show will follow Elle Woods throughout her high school years, long before she became one of Harvard’s most prestigious lawyers to graduate from the university.

And where does Reese fit into all of this?

Witherspoon will be an executive producer for the new series and apparently, Reese couldn’t be any more excited to have a behind the scenes role for the upcoming series!

“Fans will get to know how Elle Woods navigated her world as a teenager with her distinct personality and ingenuity, in ways that only our beloved Elle could do. What could be better than that?!” expressed Reese Witherspoon. “I’m extremely grateful to the incredible teams at Prime Video and Hello Sunshine – along with our amazing writer Laura Kittrell – for making this dream of mine come true. Legally Blonde is back!”

What, like it’s hard to be an executive producer?

According to a press release that was shared to People, the upcoming prequel dives into Elle’s “life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.”
