It’s Official, The Entire State of New York is Locking Down
New Yorkers, I hope you are prepared! New York State is locking down!
New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo isn’t calling this a shelter in place, but ” New York state on pause”. Basically the same thing, different words.
New Yorkers will be allowed to leave their homes for essential business only! Everyone else is being told to stay home.
The hope is that this will help slow down the spread of the coronavirus.
Here are the rules, stay indoors, you are allowed to go exercise outdoors, take a run, walk, hike… in solitude.
Practice social distancing, which is at least 6 feet between you and others.
Trips out of the home are limited to essential things like food and medical care.
Cuomo said that the state of New York has more than 7,000 confirmed coronavirus cases!
Essential workers include mass transit workers, restaurant staff doing delivery and take-out and can still go to work.
New York follows the entire state of California in putting non-essential workers on 24-hour virus lockdown. The entire state of California is already on a shelter-in-place order.
I don’t take this lightly at all. Folks have to understand that right now, with so many New Yorkers losing employment, losing paychecks, dealing with all sorts of stresses and strains, I’m hearing constantly from people who are tremendously worried about how they’re going to make ends meet.

There will be civil fines and mandatory closure for any business that does not comply.
Check on your elderly and disabled neighbors. Help where you can! Some of these people may not be able to get themselves prepared for something like this. Help one another!
