Magic Mike 3 Is Happening, Channing Tatum Calls It The ‘Super Bowl Of Stripping’
For the third installment of Magic Mike, Channing Tatum’s theory is basically to go big or go home.
That’s super fine by me. AMIRITE, ladies?!?
Now, this third chapter in the Magic Mike saga is likely Channing Tatum’s last. *Que the cries of fans everywhere.
So, to make the film EXTRA hot and steamy, Channing wants the dances to level up — to be on the same caliber as his final dance sequence with Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss in Magic Mike XXL.
Seriously, if you haven’t witnessed that last dance in Magic Mike XXL, hit up YouTube and search it. H-O-T.
I want it to be the Super Bowl of stripping — I want dancing like we’ve never been able to do in the other two movies, because we had to be honest to what the reality of that world is, which isn’t great dancing.

Did you know that Channing Tatum used to be a male stripper IRL? I know — I wish I would have been lucky enough to see him LIVE as well!!
He wants to level up the quality of dance you usually find in your everyday strip club. Although the hot dudes always dance, he thinks they should come at it as more of an art form with their dancing.
Channing would like to see this kind of “stripper” dancing become its own genre of dance. You know, there’s Hip Hop, Ballet, Jazz, what-have-you. He wants to see this sensual dancing amongst the more popular dances.
There was never anything in the real world that I actually stripped in that was even nearly as good as that [last dance] — We’re already breaking the rules of that, the reality of that world. I want to have professional dancers [from all over], Russian ballet dancers, I want to go for it and create a completely new genre of this form.

Channing also wants to switch it up a little this time. It wouldn’t be Magic Mike without that strong male lead, but he wants a female lead that is equally responsible for pulling the weight of the movie.
Mike could really play off this female lead, and she could be more of the focus of the film, not just an afterthought.
I want to have an equal, if not even more centralized female character for Mike to really play off of and almost to — I don’t want to say, [to have her] take the baton, but really let the movie be about a female’s experience and not Mike’s experience, because it has been so much about Mike and the guys’ experiences. These movies are very, very female-forward. At least that is our intention.

Channing is actually the executive producer of the live show, so he has his antenna and feelers all up in it. Now, I haven’t seen it, but I’m guessing that means it’s hella good!!
The live show is the reason for the third one — I wanted the live show to be the third movie. It has real meaning, without trying to force feed you any kind of message or anything. [Magic Mike director] Steven Soderbergh [came out and said] ‘We should make a third movie and base it off of the themes and what the live show does.’ I think every single movie is us leading to this movie.

Now, the only question I have is: Is Lenny Kravitz going to be in it?
