A ‘National Treasure’ TV Series Is Officially Coming To Disney+!
National Treasure fans can give theirselves a pat on the back after all the hard work they’ve put into having National Treasure make a comeback!
After fans have been begging for more, Disney+ has finally green lighted a National Treasure series!
Disney+ has given the go for a 10 episode series according to Deadline, that will be exclusive to the streaming platform.
So what does the new series entail?
The new series will act as a reimagining of the franchise with 20 year old Latina character Jess Morales as the center of the storyline.
Following in the footsteps of Nic Cage’s Benjamin Franklin Gates, Jess and her friends set off on an adventure to uncover her mysterious family history while also recovering lost treasure along the way.
Let’s also not forget about the third National Treasure movie that is currently in the works!
“We’re certainly working on one National Treasure for streaming and we’re working on one for the big screen,” Bruckheimer explained to Collider. “Hopefully, they’ll both come together and we’ll bring you another National Treasure, but they’re both very active….The one for Disney+ is a much younger cast. It’s the same concept but a young cast. The one for theatrical would be the same cast.”
