The New $908 Billion Coronavirus Stimulus Proposal Doesn’t Include Stimulus Checks For Americans
It’s officially December and with just a few weeks left of the year, there is a burning question on everyone’s mind- will we be getting another stimulus check soon? As in, before the end of the year?
So, let’s get to it… where is Congress right now regarding a second stimulus check?
As of yesterday, Congress is back in office meeting about the current state of things and as of today, Democratic leaders have backed a bipartisan $908 billion coronavirus stimulus proposal.
But get this – the new proposal DOES NOT include any money for a second stimulus check for Americans.
While House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer are backing a $908 billion bipartisan proposal introduced by a group of lawmakers on Tuesday, it is being used as a way to restart negotiations.
But again, it does not include any sort of relief for millions of Americans that so desperately need it.
“In the spirit of compromise, we believe the bipartisan framework introduced by Senators yesterday should be used as the basis for immediate bipartisan, bicameral negotiations,” they said in a letter on Wednesday.
“Of course, we and others will offer improvements, but the need to act is immediate and we believe that with good-faith negotiations we could come to an agreement.”
With many paying bills such as a rent, on credit cards, people need a stimulus check now more than ever and honestly have needed one for months.
So, to answer the question – we don’t know if a stimulus check will be coming before the end of the year but we do know Congress is certainly dragging their feet on this one.
If you look at other countries, they have provided relief since day one and their economies are on the uptick and business is starting to boom again.
I get don’t get it. I am saddened this is where we are at right now.
