There’s A Rare Black Moon Happening This Weekend. Here’s How You Can See It.
It will only happen once in 2022!

I love a good full moon and one that is rare in beauty, is even better!

Cancel all your evening plans this weekend if you feel the same because there’s a rare black moon happening and it’s the only one in 2022!

Rare Black Moon 2022
A black moon is essentially when there are two new moons in a single month. A new moon is when you can barely see the moon in the sky.
This month’s event is rare because the black moon will cause the first partial solar eclipse of 2022 and that makes it rare!

When is the Black Moon 2022?
The black moon is occurring on April 30, 2022 and the partial solar eclipse will begin 90 minutes before sunset depending on where you are in the world.
You can go here to see what time the partial solar eclipse will peak in your area.

According to the Smithsonian:
The best place to see the phenomenon is Chile, where the black moon will block up to 54 percent of the sun. Observers farther north will see less of the sun covered. The event will only be seen from parts of Antarctica, South America, the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean, according to People. Astronomy fans in North America can view the event on a livestream.

This will be really cool to see if you happen to be able to see it!
