Ryan Gosling shares his thoughts on Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie’s Barbie Oscar snubs.

As we all know, Ryan Gosling has been nominated for Best Supporting Actor at this year’s Academy Awards.

And while fans have been excited for Ryan’s nomination, others have also been left shocked after finding out that both Margot and Greta were not nominated at the Oscars for their roles in Barbie.

After Ryan find out about his own Oscar nomination, he not only expressed his gratitude, but also took the opportunity to share his thoughts on Greta and Margot’s snub from the Oscars.

He continued,

“And I never thought I’d [be] saying this, but I’m also incredibly honored and proud that it’s for portraying a plastic doll named Ken,” he explained. “But there is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two people most responsible for this history-making, globally-celebrated film.”

“No recognition would be possible for anyone on the film without their talent, grit and genius,” his statement continued.

“To say that I’m disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective categories would be an understatement,” Ryan added.

“Against all odds with nothing but a couple of soulless, scantily clad, and thankfully crotchless dolls, they made us laugh, they broke our hearts, they pushed the culture and they made history,” he stated. “Their work should be recognized along with the other very deserving nominees.”

Ryan finished his statement with explaining that he was also “so happy for America Ferrera,” who was recently nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Barbie, as well as “the other incredible artists who contributed their talents to making this such a groundbreaking film.”

We totally agree with you Ryan, but nonetheless, congratulations on the nomination too!
