Okay, if you are reading this far, I am assuming you’ve seen this week’s episode of And Just Like That because we are going to talk about what happened…

HBO Max

So, the big thing that happened this week was, Miranda told Steve about Che and can I just say, my heart broke THE ENTIRE TIME for Steve.

Steve has literally always been there for Miranda and this scene just made me want to reach through the TV and give him a big hug and tell him he deserves better.

So, in this scene, Miranda begins talking about her wanting more.

“I want more, more everything, more connection, more energy, more sex, more me, more, Steve, more!” she declares, as a dumbfounded Steve hears her out.

Steve replies:

“You and me, we’ve been together for a long time and it’s always like this. You don’t think that I’m enough, that I’m kind of enough, and then I’m not enough again. And I’m always there, hanging in there for us. Then finally in the last couple of years we come to a place where it’s not so god damn, f**king up and down every day where it’s kind of the same… that’s married life, Miranda, that’s life.”

HEART SHATTERED TO PIECES. Ugh.

And you know, he is not wrong.

Steve is literally the type of guy you grow old with. He is the type of guy you want in your corner at all times. Women literally dream of having a guy like this.

And that is just it – marriage is never perfect. Actually, no person is ever perfect but what Miranda had with Steve was pretty dang special.

He would do anything for her, supported her through it all and he is still sitting here saying he loves her and wants this life with her but if she ultimately isn’t happy, he just wants her happy.

If his selflessness of wanting her to be happy even if it’s not with him, is not the ultimate meaning of true love, I don’t know what is.

I really don’t get why Miranda just wants to throw that all away for someone like Che who already expressed they can’t give Miranda what she wants. In the beginning of the episode Che literally says “I can’t give you anything traditional.”

Um, hello, what does Miranda think she’ll get then? And how will it be any better than what she has with Steve?

Ugh this episode just broke my heart and also irritated me.

Steve deserves better than Miranda. In fact, Miranda has never been good enough for Steve. I truly think Miranda’s decision will backfire and will likely cause her to end up alone.
